Free up WPS Office storage

WPS Office stores documents, sheets, and decks locally and in WPS Cloud. Templates, recents, and cache add more. Clearing cache does not delete WPS Cloud files. Deleting a local document that was never uploaded does.

iPhone

1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
2. Tap General > iPhone Storage.
3. Tap WPS Office.

Android

1. Open your phone Settings > Apps.
2. Tap WPS Office.
3. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

Recents and local documents

1. Open WPS Office > Docs / Recents.
2. Check whether a file is on this device or in WPS Cloud.
3. Move important local files to WPS Cloud or Files before you delete them.

Device-only files are user files. Cloud copies stay if they finished uploading.

Templates and cache

1. Open WPS settings and look for Clear cache, storage cleaner, or template cache.
2. Clear cache and unused downloaded templates.

Templates and preview cache are disposable. Your documents are not.

Autosave cache

Recovery files and autosave copies are unsynced user work. Open them and save to WPS Cloud or Files before you clear app data.

Clear WPS Office cache on Android

1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > WPS Office.
2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
3. Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset WPS. Local documents that are not in WPS Cloud can be lost.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and WPS Office still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

1. Files already in WPS Cloud stay. Copy any document that lives only on this phone, including recovery files, before you delete the app.
2. Delete the app from your phone.
3. Restart your phone.
4. Install WPS Office again from the App Store or Google Play.
5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
